I just checked my local track's website and noticed a new record has been set.

4.99 @ 142mph done on a motorcycle.

That run set the record for the ET as well as for the MPH. A few months ago when I first started running out there, the record was 5.32 @ 135 mph set by the dragster pictured below (I've never seen the bike that now owns the record).

I was just wondering what would a bike have to have in it to make that run. Geez ... I'm still trapping at 115mph!

outlaw or turbo busa, wheelie bar bike may do it also as you would need a good sixty foot....

My brother visits the track every Saturday as a spectator. He text me the last 2 weekends and told me about the bike. The first weekend he ran a 5.04x and the following weekend ran a 5.00x. He said the guy announced he'll keep going back until he breaks into the 4s. Now that he's done it I'm not sure if he'll return but I'm going there to make a few passes myself. I'll be sure to take my camera and snap a shot or 2 of it if its there.

Man .. I don't care what it is. Car or bike, I'd love to see a 4 second pass!

My buddy Jay Riddel runs a ProMod at 4.50's @165...6.9's 195-200 in the 1/4.  200hp motor, 300 progressive nitrous.

1.1 60ft
On the wheelie bars the entire length of the track!  It's pretty crazy to say the least.

my buddies turbo busa went a 5.03 @ 157mph in the 1/8. not alot of boost either, its a prostreet setup, should go in the 4,s with the new fuel setup, velocity turbo.

Nope, this is a bike we're talking about. Most older drag bikes start with a 1100 I believe and build the motors up strong then dump tons of NO2 to them.

200hp motor, 300 NO2 goes from 0% to 100% in less than 1 second.

I can tell you this it wasn't an Outlaw or a turbo bike, both of those type of bikes would have ran alot more mph than that (160+) and they run better 1/8th mile ET's than that also (Outlaws 4.50's)(ProStreet turbo bikes 4.70-4.80's). I garantee it was a car tire drag bike with a shot of nitrous, I see it every weekend.

My friend runs 4:80's in his stang. twin 88's, 414 CI. full tube car.Ford powa!

(RetiredUSAF @ Oct. 03 2007,07:24) 4.99 at 142 needs about a 1.25 sixty, tough with no bar, but I've seen it done.
It needs a 1 teen sixy to run that number at that mph. I know of a bike that runs that same mph with mid to high 1.20 60' with no bars but it only runs 5 teens in the eigth.

We have some mid 7 sec Turbo Bikes at the shop, ill have to look at the slips to see what theyre doing in the 1/8...I think the MPH was in the 145+ range...Ill check Monday
