I was debating whether or not to get a gixxer 1000. Took the plunge and will stick with the bigger displacement bikes. Great machine. No did not trade in the Busa, no way. The busa will stay for a long time. When its time to say goodbye to the busa, which will be years from now many many years from now I will get another one, but for now the stable has decreased in size and is strictly 1000 and above.

This bike handles like a 600 almost. Really I'm not kidding. They have done a fine job with this bike. Power wheelies in 3rd.

I have NEVER experienced such acceleration before in all my life! 6,000 to redline (13,750) is UNBELIEVABLE!

Hey, CC, how does it fit...I read there's slightly less room than the 06' 1000. I looked long and hard at the 1000 before getting the Busa, but no way I could comfortably put 600 in a day on a 1000 or the wife on back for more than 30 miles.

I may have to go your route and get a 1000 as well one day...the wife would kill me - or leave me.

I'm 6-3 but only weigh in at 170# or so. Took a 300 miler with friends in the twisities last week and felt no more worn out or sore than when on my previous bike, an 05 busa after a long day in the saddle. The seat is smaller and more firm that on the busa, but not so much that you'd be preoccupied with thinking about it. I love this thing as much as I did my busa!

Hehe - I consider myself lucky in that my wife hates motorcycles, therefore it's always only me in the saddle.

I love my 07 1000.
I have exhaust, Air filter, and a dyno mapped pc3usb. and its faster than my busa was stock!!!
Also have light weight sprocket set, Galfer wave rotors, and Pirelli diablo supercorsa pro tires front and rear {a little pricey but easily THE BEST TIRE I EVER RODE ON!!!}
But anyway like I was saying, its a super fast, well made machine..
I would say its the fastest stock bike I ever rode, it may not have that low end grunt like a busa or 14 but when you re up the 1K theres nothing catching it...
From stock it just needs a little more air flow and a good map to give it the fuel and its an animal that will scare you to twist the throttle....

**FYI **For those who haven't herd the *New Idle Speed Controller (ISC) is under investigation and is causing Suzuki to replace the entire throttle body assembly until the cause of the malfunction is determined.I was told today that I would be w/ out my bike for two weeks awaiting parts coming from Japan.
had like 200 miles on my K7 and when hot it idled at 5000 rpm. My dealer had the bike back and a new set of throttle bodies were fitted. I was told that it runs 2 lots of sensors one of these was faulty. I think Suzuki are now recalling them in batches

Will keep ya posted

No I did not get the orange and black. When I first saw them that was the color that looked sexy. But after further review the blue and white looked good. But the yellow and silver stuck out. So yellow and silver I got. You guys won't believe how this bike handles. It feels like a 600 or 750. It does not seem overly drastically different. Super sweet.

I will post pics when I'm done with the mods. The yellow and silver sure does stick out in traffic which is a good thing. I even get waves from gold wingers. And goldwingers never wave at anybody.
