Since we all like pics on this site I figure I would share my latest trip.

Monday I started my return trip from the Stampede in Reno back home to Las Vegas. If I drove straight thru the desert it would be a 9 hr and 519 mile trip. Because I don't want to deal with the 109F+ heat I decided to take the mountain roads and stay cool and sight see. I figured I would get a hotel along the way and enjoy the ride wherever it took me.

11am late start I leave the Peppermille casino. (Picture taken the evening before.)

Take the North Lake Tahoe exit.

At Lake Tahoe... 63 miles into trip and temps in low 70's

97 miles into trip just past Markleville, CA and find my favorite sign of the trip so I have to stop and clicky picture.

A proper salute to the twisties that lie ahead of me.

108 miles into trip somewhere around Ebbetts pass. It was hard to pull over and stop to take a picture I was having a blast up in the mountains with very little traffic.

188 miles into trip. Somewhere past Angels Camp, CA. One of the bridges I had to go over. Stop for a 25 minute lunch, refill the camel back and hit the roads again. Somehere in the neighborhood of 5 hrs of riding, and everything feels good about the bike and myself (no cramps, stiff back etc).

Awesome road is the entrance to Yosemite Natl Park.

Short break to rest and look at map.

272 miles into trip now into Yosemite Natl Park.

353 miles into trip and sun has set. 8pm now so that makes 9 hrs of riding so far. I am still feeling good so I push on after taking a Alieve to help prevent swelling of my wrist, and a excedrine pill to help prevent any headaches before they start. I keep refilling the camelback and stay hydrated. Now that I am off the mountains I am only in 90 degree heat and I am use to that stuff.

Bad news is I cant find where I put my clear safety glasses and have to ride in the dark with highbeams and smoke visor. I always ride with them but with packing the trunk, camel back, and tank bag I misplace it. O well since I feel ok about this situation I push on.

457 miles into trip, now at Tonopah, NV. It is 11pm and I have been riding for 12 hrs straight, buy a small redbull and snickers. Don't really want to eat sugar but I did and I refill the camelback because now the temps are going to get really hot as soon as I leave the 4000ft of Tonopah. I am still feeling able to continue my trip and so far the only issue is my knees are really stiff when riding but I keep extending my legs every now and then. The throttlemeister saves my right hand and I just lean against the tank bag to keep my arms rested.

Last fill up, I think I can make the rest of the way home without stopping. And part of me want to go to bed in my own bed instead of a hotel.

Three hours later the odometer says 214 miles since last fillup. At 2:30am Tuesday I complete 667 mile trip in 15.5 hours of riding where I get home to the 94F heat and my own soft bed. It still takes me two hours to unwind and fall asleep.

Next morning after 8 hours of sleep: thumb, index and middle finger are slightly numb and tingly. Back and shoulders are not stiff, knees feel good. Awesome roads and a great time just me and my Busa. Even being stretched 5 inches is not a problem riding the twisties. I never had any issue with the bike or my gear (except for misplacing my clear glasses). I don't take many long trips but this was one time that I felt good so I continued riding. Busa's rock!!!

Home safe. All that counts. Was the trooper and the half-in, and half-out trailer gone between Tonopah and Beatty by then ????.......
