Already know the answer to this, but the tyre is Fairly new . Also just forked out alot for daughters wedding and could do without any more expense. I know there is no price on safety but I also don't ride mad
So repair or replace

A professional repair is quite safe, I've never experienced a problem with this type of repair

A patch on the inside would hold for the life of the tire.
And, I've had 2 rear tires blow out, it's not bad or hard to control at all, so I'de ride it patched and forget about it.

Yep, internal patch is perfectly safe, plug not so much

Tyre off. “Penny on a stick” type plug glued and pulled through from the inside.

Ive toured, ran low 10’s at the strip and chased Sportsbikes like that.
A properly done internal repair will not fail.

Some of the internet expert will tell you don’t risk it! It’ll fail / you’ll die / buy a new Tyre etc etc.

The ones I use look like these….

The Spike is pulled through from the inside, the large flat area is glue’d on the inside. Never in decades of using them have I ever seen one fail or come out. It just doesn’t happen. The very worst case scenario is, very rarely, a badly fitted one may leak slowly. Which is no where near as bad as most punctures.

I have multiple external “sticky rope” plugs in daily use on my tractor, mower etc, I must have done dozens on Bobcats etc, but I only use them on cars and bikes as a temporary “get me home”, anything on the road gets tyre off internal repairs.

im not trying to be that “internet expert”, just someone who’s been plugging tyres for decades and never had an issue.

Yeah, only rule I have, same as most shops, is I don’t plug tyres near the sidewall where the patch can’t sit flat. That’s not an issue with yours. If your pic was my Tyre I’d plug it and never give it a second thought, ride as normal.

yeah the sellers all are seemingly also tire sellers

and sure it is for permanent use til end of tire profile - that way i use it now for years and years at any bike if the screw is more or less sw. in the middle like at the pic .

All patched up and wheel refit, all for £20 thanks for all the advice. I must admit when I asked this question I was expecting for the sake of safety replace the tyre, thanks again

Leave it, it will wear with the rest of the tire....
