Replacing stock exhaust-URGENT HELP

Hi Guys,

Just bought a Gen II 2011 Busa , brand new. I am contemplating putting the Two brothers Vale CF exhausts but a biker friend recommends that I should wait till I do the run in for the new bike and then change the exhaust system which is after around a 1000 miles. Am confused. Should I wait or get them changed right away? Getting a great deal on the exhausts and hence need to decide fast.

I wouldn't really see any need to have to wait if you are just doing slip-ons,heck even a full system for that matter as long as it is tuned for it. ???
But..............as I learned from my wife I am known to be wrong at times.

I replaced my exhaust at 200 miles. But I did put slips ons on her.

I don't see any issues with doing mods to the exhaust right away.


You could, of course, just buy now for the super deal and install later.

These are the slip ons too......But someone advised that the stock exhausts have resistance which is necessary for the engine during run in....and these are free flow so the engine might not get run in properly.......hence the confusion

No problem at all to add slip ons or full exhaust to a new bike. No base map or dyno tune is Needed for either, no harm will be done without one. A base map will improve things and a dyno tune is the best for a full exhaust. Slip ons won't benefit from either.
Buy the exhaust and put it on now, no worries.

Not true.

Slip-ons have little to no affect on your bike. The dealer delivered my '08 new with a Brocks Full System that delivers more flow than anything on the market. 0 miles on the ODO at delivery. 22K miles on the clock now, did I mention 22K HARD miles

I put mine on with about 300 miles, and i am at 40,000 with no problems. Get ur exhaust

Just go for it. Order yours immediately. it's a five minute job and you shall feel the difference once you put these slip ons. And the best part is the sound which will certainly make you feel that you did the right thing. Enjoy.

I have the ss lines and EBC HH extreme pro pads...and they are worth every penny! A huge improvement!
Just adding slipons will only give you 1 or 2 hp, but the weight loss is very noticeable flicking side to side through curves. The looks and sound are worth it anyway
You'll be very happy with those 3 mods, now run before you find tons of other great things here to spend thousands on!

At the factory the motor is bench run under load for 30 minutes to do the initial break in. For final break-in the motor relies on you the rider. To do this, they need the correct exhaust back pressure and in your OEM exhaust they fit two screens in each pipe, front and back. The material is a carbon/moly and it disintergrates completely between 600 - 900 miles. The factory oil on a new bike contains certain esters, which rely on the back pressure to place ester molecules between the ring and plated cylinder material, providing the desired coefficient of friction, between the ring material and the Nikasil cylinder coating.
