Nah, if you weld the factory ends back on(not just the caps like mine), you'll be fine.

Will do. I think we pm'd recently on this, but if not, my welds eventually cracked and rattled. The muffler is aluminum and the tip is stainless(I'm not a welder) so I don't know if it just wasn't a good job, or that those two materials just won't bond well enough to permanently hold.
The threaded rod way seems to hold up well long term. I hope it works out.

ya you cant weld aluminum with a mig welder.. u need a aluminum welder.. and stainless is not the easyest..
