thanx bro call me crazy but I feel more comfortable dumpin 2nd, and riding a long stand-up wheelie goin like 80mph, ALL DAY. But later found 1st gear clutch-ups "sitting or standing" scare the $hit outta me:laugh: and I have often read were most riderz learn in the oppisite order...lol

power wheelies in first are one thing but clutchin' them in first is gonna take a week or so... hats off to you:thumbsup:

Here is my problem...... My 05 is stretched 4" in the rear, and I have not been able to find anyone that can give me advice on how to compensate for this. SOOOOO.... I have been having to learn on my own. My buddy has a Gixxer 1000 and rides miles and miles on one wheel. He only clutches his up. My friends at work have 600's and a 750. They are scared of clutching it up, and believe that since I have a Busa, I should be able to just twist the throttle a little, and up I go.

A couple of months ago, I found my balls and started getting up to about 6k rpms in 1st gear, letting off then twisting almost full throttle and started getting it up. My buddy with the Gixxer 750 and I started taking our lunch breaks to practice, and this week, I have them up really high in 1st, until I run out of RPM's.

A few days ago, on our lunch outings, I decided to start trying to clutch it. After watching countless how to vids on Youtube, I tried getting up to around 6k, pull in with one finger, rev to 11 and dump the clutch. Front came up a little. That was in 2nd. Tried in 1st, and it came up about 2 feet, but just up and down. So yesterday afternoon, after work we were out on 360 by six flags. We had been riding hard, and I guess my adrenaline and balls were one the same level. At around 100 mph, I dropped from 5th to 3rd, 1 finger in, rev to 12 and dumped it. It came up very big. It felt so good.

Thats where I am at.

Need some tips on how to ride it further. How to stand up. How to shift while riding.

Danksy, yours looks great. Sorry for the Hijack. Hope you can help me.

ha no not a typo its 14/41

as you can tell, I like to wheelie. and really on the highway Im just under 5large at 80mph

I will tell you I get fully **** gas mileage though, about 30 on a good day.

I will put it back up a bit maybe run a 16/43 next time around.

texzukguy - are you doing these on a sit down??? dumping the clutch at 11 grand seems, I don't wanna say retarded but, wrong? from the vid I get it to about 5000 and let it drop, I wasn't going nearly as fast as you were though, I have strayed from those types of wheelies though, had an 18 wheeler fly by me on the other side of a highway and damn near knocked me over 2 lanes.

sorry got sidetracked... if you have to rev to 11grand your making your clutch do all the work, which is not the way it should be done.

for example, a good second gear power wheelie standing up on the front pegs should start around 45-50mph, standing up on those pegs its a push down on the front forks and as the fork decrompress you accelerate and guide the bike up with your arms.

these types of wheelies are difficult on our bikes to ride for extended distances because of the weight issue, but they are relatively safe because the front wheel comes up gradually as you accelerate.

when you clutch it up, you should transfer 90% of your weight to the rear of the bike and the front wheel should pop to 10:00-11:00 almost instantly.

with a 4 inch stretch it is definitely going to be more difficult, but I would stop what you are doing with your clutch, from the sounds of it you got lucky on that wheelie to not have it slip out from under you.

work on bouncing the bike up for power wheelies to get a sensation of where the bike likes to be and how quickly the front comes off the ground.

any more questions feel free to ask or if I was unclear let me know

ACTUALLY

once it stops raining here I was thinking of making a video going into to detail about how I learned to wheelie, would this interest anyone?

or would people just post things like "how to die 101" in the thread???

While it may not be for everyone....your bound to get some negative feed back. Personally if you put together a quality "how-to"....I'd be all about it as I'm sure others would as well.
Either way man....keep doing your thing.

Make a how to video. Im sure people would learn something from it. Make sure you put a disclaimer on it.

not like a "how-to" that implies that I know better than the rest, but more like a

this is how I do it and if anyone is curious, then take a look haha

I will, might take a week or two, but you'll see it up here

Really nice wheelies Dansky. Makes me want to practice more.

Just redid my seals after 23k miles due to wheelies. Ready for another 23k with lots of wheelies in the mix.

Those were 1st gear wheelies right?

Anyway, dont let peoples opinions bother ya. Who cares? Just post em up!!:beerchug:

yeah those ones were first. I like trying to slow em down a bit ya know?

also when its a set camera no one would be able to see anything if I were in a standup at 90mph haha

ill get some more up here, hoping more players than haters post on the thread, thanks for the support

14/41...never seen that on a busa before...can you snap some pictures of the chain guide at the front of the swingarm at the pivot?

16 rubs...15 does a number on it...I am guessing it is either removed or eaten away.

12 o clocks on pretty much any suzuki for any real distance wipes out rod bearings...be aware.

and of course...high slow wheelie normally result in slamming odwn of front ends...get good at replacing seals...

My request....your next video....can you please find a nice deserted parking lot?

I can care less about your gear....but you don't have control of the bike while waving the front in the air. So please remove the threat to others by choosing as safe of place as possible....looks like you do it a lot.
