Did you know that any cell phone, whether or not it is active with a wireless company, by law, has to connect with 911? Someone told me this and I dug up an old phone from a provider I haven't used in a year. It showed bars, so I dialed 911. 911 answered and told me that all cell phones have to connect with 911 regardless.

You can toss an old phone in the hump and call for help if you run into trouble.

Yep, that is with all phones.

They have a program for battered women that I donate my companies phones to: http://www.snbw.org/donate/cellphone.htm
I don't like battered women, I like 'em plain.
Sorry I couldn't resist, I'll go sit in the corner now.

At work we collect them for battered women's shelters. They can always use them.. never know when they need 911.
