I know!.....how many times can you beat a dead horse? :deadhorse: But, i read through "some" of the 1000's of posts and got tired of looking :read: I am kind of a motor head already, but main experience comes from race car stuff... still getting up to speed with all the technology of this busa! So please excuse some of the NO brainer questions (for some). I just want to be a 100% sure and clear before doing something STUPID, because i didnt take the time to research it......So, here's the million dollar question, whats the minimum mileage to have on a 08 busa engine before switching to FULL synthetic motor oil? I have gotten in so many debates with non-busa/motocycle mechanics about this very question! So now i would like to get some info from the guys that are actually in the trenches (so to speek). If possible i'd like to switch at the first 500mile service? I've heard and experienced nothing but GREAT things after making the transfusion! Thx for any and all info in advance......and sorry for the long drawn out post, guess i got carried away

Used a synthetic blend in mine at 500 miles, Mobil 1 at 1500 miles, Motul 7100 at 4400 miles. Didn't get any of the "benefits", smoother shifting in particular, of the synthetic until I went to the Motul though. May have been the oil, may have just took that long to fully break in. Everything is great now.

You can do it before you ride it. However, You still want to change it at the 500/1000 mile area anyhow. So you will be draining some pretty expensive oil pretty quick.

There is a lot of misinformation surrounding breakin period and synthetic oil. It was being used as original oil as far back as the early 90s in ZR1 corvettes, Typhoons etc.

It is the top Myth on Mobil1's page.
