wth? obama quoting the bible?

I just cant understand why anyone would honestly want to be the president at any time. I cant imagine the political climate if a republican had won. It would be epic. This country is coming close to a "1984" scenario, like the 5 MINUTES OF HATE, and thought crime. Time to focus on unity not diversity...peace :beerchug:

I am comforted by some of your responses....the open minded, "family of man" types.

i wasn't critisizing him, merely commenting about his quote. i was impressed actually. anyway, the fact that he's a fantastic speaker wasn't being debated, neither were politics, i just meant to comment on the fact he's quoting the bible.

and to the gentlemen who wishes to stand toe to toe with a christian on judgement day, it's not how you lived your life that really counts, it's your relationship with Jesus that will get you into or keep you out of heaven. you're probably an ok guy, but as far as entrance to heaven goes, there will be many that day who call themselves christian that end up in the pit, simply because they never really knew Jesus.

Holy smokes, so God creates us IN HIS IMAGE yet makes it so that we "end up in the pit" if, for some reason, we trust science and honest inquiry as to our origins? If faith just isn't enough for some of us, then we are punished for eternity? Sounds pretty harsh and cruel....and a silly game to me.
If a little native baby on an island doesn't ever have "a relationship with Jesus" but a bear eats him even before he acquires language, he still burns in hell for eternity?
I support you believing anything you want....but I'm not buying it.

just my feelings but Obama is the closest thing we currently have to the Anti Christ. One who rises quickly to power, a smooth talker (Even though I don't beleive a word out of his mouth) ect... he's just a bad freaking Joke. What the F! where people thinking when they voted for this idiot?

They were thinking that:

1. They had enough of the previous idiot.
2. The alternatives were simply not worth considering....

he didn't create us to sin. the devil tempted eve in the garden of eden, and she sinned. from then on, man was simply born of sin, we can't help it. he sacrificed his only son, allowed a righteous man to die on the cross like a criminal, so that we, the sinners, could be viewed as righteous in the fathers eyes. and whether you believe it or not, he died for you too.

and the baby question, it sounds like you should talk to a pastor. i can't answer your question, but if you're interested you can email my church back home for an answer. i'm sure pastor coy or bowers could answer your question.

OMG, OMG, OMG, oh my gosh. (BTW, I used to be an altar boy, still remember the mass in Latin). Oh well, I think I'll go blog with Sarah Palin now.

In a recent analysis, "Was Barack Obama a Muslim?" I surveyed available evidence and found it suggests "Obama was born a Muslim to a non-practicing Muslim father and for some years had a reasonably Muslim upbringing under the auspices of his Indonesian step-father." In response, David Brock's organization, Media Matters for America (MMfA), which calls itself a "progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media," has criticized one of my sources of information.

When Obama attended 4th grade in 1971, Muslim children spent two hours a week studying Islam, and Christian children spent those two hours learning about the Christian religion.

Christianity. It's always been like that."

About Obama's step-father, Lolo Soetoro and his religiosity, Barker writes:

In their first neighborhood, Obama occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers, a few neighbors said. But Soetoro usually was too busy working, first for the Indonesian army and later for a Western oil company. "Sometimes Lolo went to the mosque to pray, but he rarely socialized with people," said Fermina Katarina Sinaga, Obama's 3rd-grade teacher at the Catholic school, who lived near the family. "Rarely, Barry [a nickname for Barack] went to the mosque with Lolo."

Being muslim ( to me ) means being anti capitalist and wanting to convert our nation to islam. whats with the crap building mosks? go to an islam nation to visit a mosk, what a crock, do I go around preaching atheism? I think people should keep their religious preference to themselves...

I just think things will be better when he gets booted out. the 2012 elections will be the proof he has failed the nation and the people want him out. no more lies and *cough* hope . what a joke

oh, no offense taken. I personally didn't vote for him but I do respect the office and would be estatic if he was accepted a little more. I do find it interesting that people consider him Muslim even though there is nothing more than accusations and innuendo.

As an fyi, I'm registered as an independent and always try to find unbiased information and voting histories of the candidates offered up for chosing. That task in and of itself is quite daunting.

Anyway, thanks for posting the info and I'll try and catch up on reading some of the offered items.

yeah, the info I found wasn't the greatest, I tried to find more indepth reseach but came up empty handed. I did find a poll that stated 5 out of 6 americans think he is muslim, I too assumed as much. there is so much smear out there on both sides it IS hard to sift through everything to find one answer. thx for the feedback, seems i need to read diff articles as well, refresh my knowledge
