Those red signals and the woodcraft really looks sweet.

Are red signals legal? Seems like the cops wouldn't like them.

Also, the thick piece that sticks out on the cover is to add protection in a skid, right?

Posting a couple of pics of my newly installed Woodcraft cover.  Install went off without a hitch, even the quick attraction of the magnet just before the cover made contact with the motor.

OK, the magnet thing confuses me. The cover is made out of aluminum right? Aluminum isn't attracted by magnets.

Red lenses...illegal.

Correct...skid plate is to add more protection.

Red turns don't bother the neighbor. He-He

In Illinois, yeah, they are. Enforcement depends on the officer. But any forward facing illumination on non-emergency vehicles may only be amber or white.

Friend has red turns, he gets stopped about once a year for them but usually let off with a warning to either remove them or cover them while on the street.

I think the cover would look really good two tone. Brushed aluminum on the outside, black glossy paint on the inlay. what do you guys think?

When you remove the stock cover its stuck on pretty good due to magnetic attraction. The stator is mounted on the inside of the old cover. The stator has to be transferred to the new cover. When you start to put the new cover back on, and get close to the two side meeting, the magnetic attraction pulls real hard, and if your fingers are in the way, you lose skin.

good to know - I will be replacing mine this weekend. definitely helps to know to watch out for the magnetic attraction.

any other tips / things to watch out for? how difficult is the whole job of replacing the stator cover?

see my post above regarding not using a screwdriver (or anything metal) to pry off the old cover.

Only other thing - when you bolt the new cover on:

1- It's good practice to put the bolts in on alternating sides (put a bolt in the top, then on the bottom, then on the side, then the opposing side etc...)

2- Suzuki specs. call for only 10Nm of torque on the outer bolts - not super tight, but reasonably firm.
