Windshield Change

there is a bolt right beside the mirror. They go into a rubber plug with metal threads on the inside.

take out the bolts and pull the rubber plug outta that hole. Yes it is very hard to get those plugs out but they do come out.

take windscreen off and put new on.

easy way to get those rubber plugs back in is to put a little saliva on it and twist it as you're pushing it back in. Once in put the bolts back in.

... you got a hammer?

Also... depending on the type of windscreen you are putting on... you may want to pad the areas that slid into the groves with a little electrical tape.
THis will keep it from squeeking.

Dishwashing detergent works great too for getting those rubber grommets back in.

I have a large slide hammer. That should get those rubber plugs out.

j/k. Thanks for the info. I'm going to be replaceing mine soon, too.

the best way to do it is instead of pulling them out, grab the edge of your windsheild and pull them in. take out the two inner plastic rivits and you can pull back trim the enough to get them out while still in the windscreen. then just pull them out the the bottom side of your windscreen. to put them back in, line up the holes first. then barely start the screw in the threads. put the bottom of the rubber thing in the outer hole and take your allen wrench put it in the head of the screw and push on it. what this will do is strech the rubber out making it longer and smaller around and the little bump around the outside smaller. then it should pop right in. just becareful and push on it straight, that way you dont slip and ruin your new windscreen. try it, its alot easier than pulling them out and twisting them back in.

That is what I did, I took out the push pin and pulled the rubber part through from the inside......
