Who Rode Today?

When few protect their homeland, then they are stronger than thousands of mercenaries. The bravery throughout
the greatness. Thanks Yellow09
I did a couple tours in Cyprus and learned a lot about your history from the Greek Cypriots.

I recall going to a few Mezze dinners, my first one I made that cardinal mistake of cleaning my plate the first few courses...I was suffering at the end...I definitely learned to pace myself the others I went to.

The high today was about 57 degrees it was sunny with blue skies got in just over a 100 miles today. Saw a few bikes out today. Leaves are somewhat behind with the color change this year maybe with the next week or two I’ll be able to capture a more dramatic change in the colors. A few pics

Just another lil 150 miler to break in the front tire and bed in the new brakes, which seem to work just fine. And a few pics along the way. :D This lil town has more dilapidated structures than habitable ones. Goats and turkeys and a lil cat, all ‘in town’.:laugh:View attachment 1607264

Looks like zombies may run out of those structures at any moment. How many miles do you think you average yearly?

It’s split up between two bikes and my car. I’ve put just over 6,000 on my Z since this month last year. I haven’t kept track on the Busa but I put at least a few thou on it each year. Haven’t toured in awhile except for NV and OR and when I did, that added another 3,500-4,000+ depending on the tour. I rode thru eight states in ten days one year that was over 4,000. That’s only 400 miles a day.

As soon as the first snow hits, the road inside the Park to Glacier Point will close so I thought I’d ride up and see it again. It’s such a spectacular sight in person especially when you realize that right where you’re standing, during the ice age, all that you can see was buried under a thousand feet of ice. It’s between 6-7,000’ there and the temperature was a crisp 50 degrees. Only one road construction zone on the way with a 30 minute wait. Luckily when I arrived there was already a mile of cars and a bus in line waiting. So I zoomed to the front and waited just a few minutes. Woulda killed me following that many cars down a two lane road for 20 miles. The first shot is looking west from the western edge (Wawona Rd) of the Park.

What great pics Wuzza! Beautiful part of the country you are in.
What's the deal with those rock formations lookin' like the Devil's Tower?
Do you have the geological info on this?

I went out today, covered 200kms around the usual loop, then called in at "Smash Palace Bike Show" which is held annually right in the center of the Christchurch earthquake ruins, the central city.
The city is still being reconstructed 9 years after the devastating 2011 quake.
It's still a mess, but it has quaint little pop up bars and entertainment venues such as this one which make it a little more engaging . . .
notice the new buildings . .

Below, one of the old facades has been kept and a new building will go in directly behind it . . those are shipping containers on the right side of the facade, Kiwi ingenuity, in case another quake makes the brick wall come down, the containers will keep pedestrians from being squished like bugs.

A rustic ol' biker bar, for sure!

Below, stairway to heaven.
