What would be a good light Rim that is durable and strong, as well as in available in Black for the busa, and can handle 400 500 600 or more HP? Seeking a Light Forged Aluminum Rims.

I have both the BST carbon wheels & Forged Magnesium Marchesinis - I am pushing near 600 hp and would recommend either.

Marchesini also make a forged aluminum wheel which looks very similiar to Magnesium

Be careful on the Performance Machine stuff - Most of their wheels are heavier than stock and some models do not have cush drives

Might want to also check out the OZ Aluminum wheel - I've heard nothing but good about them

FYI - The absolute strongest magnesium wheel is the Marvic - KILLER wheel - Most of the ProStar guys all run it - I have had them myself - Excellent wheel

OK, cool now do the Busa and '05 1K rims same size ect, another words can the BST Carbon Fiber Rims for the Busa be taken off and put on the '05 1K instead???

I have BST ordered for the '05 LE Busa BUT thinking of Putting them on the '05 1K instead. Along with the Ceramic Bearings.

Explain CUSH Drives?

The front wheel is no problem - The 1k rear is a tad narrower than the Busa wheel - All you need to do though is to get the 1k spacer (right side I think) .... but they are VERY VERY close..

Good call on the ceramics - I run em - worth every penny !!!!!

a "cush drive" is the rubber deal that is in the rear wheel - underneath the sprocket carrier area ... when you hit the power the cush drive absorbs the initial impact so your tranny dsnt take a shock

Some PM wheels are metal to metal (no cush drive) - so when you nail it - your tranny takes a BEATING - BIG TIME!!!! .... and with BIG power you will pulverize your tranny in a heartbeat

You realize this thread is 8 years old right?

I'd like to know about BST wheels and 600 hp though. Cause I want some.

The bike I'm waiting on has BST's...I've read up on them and except for that "Ducati incident"...most people swear by them. I'm curious if the CF degrades over time..I think these wheels have been on the bike for 4-5 years...but not many miles on the bike. I've seen conflicting information...figured I'd ask here.

Are they all for BUSA's? If so do you mind weighting them and posting up for a comparison please? :beerchug:
