What was Your First Bike?

Rode dirt bikes alot when I was 15 or so but, my first street bike was a Kawasaki ninja 250. That bike had been passed around the base i was on for a few years. She went to the big racetrack in the sky when I was done with her.

1980 Yamaha 250 Exciter. I saved up my Washington Post paper route money and had it licensed and ready to ride on my 16th birthday. Ahhh the memories...

I got it for my ninth birthday. I remember thinking it was so ugly, but was so happy because my parents had finally got me a motorcycle after all my begging.

I eventually moved on up through dirt bikes and had plenty of chances to test my parents' patience and insurance plans.

My very first street bike was a 1982 Yamaha Maxim. I wrecked that one eventually, too. But it was fixable and lasted me a long time; up until I finally tested out the sport bike side and then I never went back; well, I haven't gone back yet anyway. My first sportbike was a 1987 CBR 600...Oh yes, a Hurricane. My mom's hair went white way too early. Totally my fault. Anyway, man I talk alot. I'll shut the hell up now.

My first bike?

It was a Katana 600, which rode exactly like my Busa with 1/3 of the power.  It was a heavy son of a..just like the Busa.  It was a great bike to start on, with plenty of power at first.  Once I was used to it I stepped up to the plate and got the Busa.  It's all in your self discipline.

You're the only one that knows you.  The question is, do you trust yourself?  You can die on a pocket bike too!

2002 Yamaha V-Star 1100. Then 3 months later I got a 2004 Yamaha R1, then 6 months later I got the 2005 Hayabusa. Before that was just a bunch of 3-wheelers, dirtbikes, and quads.

1981 BMW R65 that looked like the one below, minus the rifle fairing. I beat the snot out of that bike....
