Well, the same story told a different way - Hayabusa History

Really funny video but fact check. It was 311 mph not 394 mph set by good friend Mr 311 Bill Warner.

The thing about a Hayabusa is it's a tried and tested platform which has a bit of tech but not enough to be a pain in the arse for maintenance...

To top all that off, it's a 20 yr old (or more) design which all the others set their standard by.

Much as I’m a disappointed with Suzuki’s line up for the last few years, the Busa was a game changer bike.

Amazing that if you want big numbers, horsepower, top speeds etc, then the natural choice is a Hayabusa. Amazing because it’s a 20 year old bike and nothing has beat it in 20 years!! For a bike of its age to still dominate really is special.

It has the advantage that it’s design doesn’t need to meet Euro4 or 5 specs that makes newer bikes struggle, and it lack modern bikes features, but even walking past it to buy a Kawasaki, I‘ll argue with anyone who says the Busa isnt something really special. A landmark in motorcycle history.

And this, a couple days ago from Cyclenews.com
Yep, very good write up of an awesome motorcycle platform which has stood the test of time-that's why we love them.

try again
