Vapor Lock

Hello all. Been a while since I posted.
I've been having a problem with my 99. I'm sure it's vapor lock due to the external fuel pump having to pull fuel from the tank. If the tank screen has any dirt or if the in-pump filter is dirty the bike stalls and shuts off on the freeway. It'll start right back up like nothing's wrong. I suppose I could clean the filters every 6 months but out here in the Mojave I think having a pressurized fuel line from tank to injectors is the way.

That said...Has anyone put a 00 plus year tank and in tank pump on an older bike?
If so was it a tough mod?

Has to be a 01 plus tank w/internal pump as 99 & 00 both use external pump.. And yes I did it and cured all my vapor lock issues..

I have done this as well, you just have to rewire the new pump (which i have a 05 pump for sale btw)....and get a new tank, easy fix
