Valve check

Has anyone done a valve check and adjustment ( if needed) lately.If so was it straight forward. I am no fool when it comes to mechanical things but this is the first time I have ever had a bike long enough to need a check. Any Advice?

Did it this weekend and it went without a problem. I didnt have to adjust the valves shims as they were all within the correct measurement. Thanks again.Saved myself a lot of cash for a few hours work and I know that its been done right.

informe us how many miles were on the odo without adjustment.Just to see if its obligatory to adjust valves at 14k according to the manual
