I know that prices vary from shop to shop, but what will a valve adjustment probably run?

IF (and that's a mighty BIG IF) they even need to be adjusted, $300 to $400. It's a tad bit labor intensive and will take a good two or three hours to do right.

I doubt you need an adjust, though. Just a check to be sure they're still okay for your peace of mind is all. That should run $150. Why not do it yourself?

My bike had 22k and I had them inspected and yes the one valve needed adjusted. The mechanic looked at the spark plugs and can see that one valve needed adjustment. While they are doing the valves have them put in new spark plugs in as well.....they should put in the spark plugs for free....as long as you have the new plugs. I think my valve job cost around $300.00

Yeah I called the dealer and they said $600, but that includes drain and fill all fluids, plugs, and a bunch of other crap. Just the valves is $300. They also said that its rare that they need to be adjusted.

$300 for just a check sounds a bit high.
