Trip to gatlinburg

Just wondering what kind of roads and scenery are up that way. Isn't it close to the Gap? Didn't want to take the wife 2up through the Gap (she's scared of it apparently

) but would love to hear of other scenic roads that I can assure her will be worth taking the bike. I have only driven through that area and didn't take time to really look around at all.

She didn't want me to bring the bike because she wanted to be able to go site seeing. Now that is a little ironic when you could take the bike and see more! She loves riding but scares easily even when I take it easy. So are there roads up that way for a scaredy cat??? Cause I'm taking the bike no matter what!

Thanks

lot,s of good roads besides the gap. I sugest the skyway, and maybe over the mountain to cherokee, N. C. to the casino. We usually hang out in gatlinburg on Sat. nights, if your in town on a sat, look me up.

If you're going to Gatlinburg, take a ride on into the park. Turn right at the Sugarlands Visitor Center and ride over to Townsend.  It's about a 12 mile ride across the park, some good curves without being as aggressive as the Dragon.  When you get to Townsend travel north on the highway and take Foothills Parkway across to Hwy 129.  It has some great long , sweeping curves on it that you can take a little faster without getting a whack on the helmet. Go left to the Dragon or turn around and ride back across the Foothills.  Take 321 back across to Pigeon Forge and back to Gatlinburg or left into Sevierville to call busa1300nut.

Seriously, there are some great roads in the Smokies and the surrounding area without having to run the Dragon.

I will be there Saturday, let me know some details and I'll try and make it. I'll be there from the 31st to the 4th.

I will be printing out this page, thanks for the info. When you live in Florida getting to the mountains is exciting!

I think your wife would really enjoy riding the roads that Busa1300nut and TennBusa told you about. My daughter and I have been on these roads and they are great. If you leave the bike at home, you will regret it. Hope you have a great trip.

Yeah, that is what I told my wife. When I said I was bringing the bike she was liek good grief. She didn't understand and I basically said that the roads are so incredible up there that I would be a fool not to take the bike. So we have been talking and were going to make a nice trip through the MTns now.
