Im thinking of trading plastics/tank with someone and there r some concerns that my 2000 hayabusa plastics/tank wont fit on a 2001. reason: fuel pump wont work? im really not sure on this if anyone out there knows or has done this already. let me know your thoughts. Thanx Matt.

01 models were the first with the internal fuel pump. Many have done the conversion from external to internal, but not sure about the reverse or why anyone would do it. Reason for the change to internal or aftermarket external was the vapor lock issues associated with that pump.

As he said, I don't think the tank will work. The only other change is the 01+ got an additional support on the lower fairing. If you look close the 99/00 has two bolts and the 01+ has 3...

If i take the guts out of my 2000 tank and if i have a empty 2002 tank there is ABSOLUTELY no way to convert it,.. r the holes in the bottom of the tanks different.
