Hey guys,
Just wanted to share a few photos of this past weekends track day.  This was my 2ND track day, and it was my first on my 2004 Yamaha R1 race bike (did the first one on the busa).

Follow the linky below and you can scroll over to see the pictures.  You dont have to go and search em all out, the link only contains the ones of me.

Pointers/comments appreciated.  I am still a LEVEL 1, but i think my lines are getting alot better and i feel like I am almost ready to step up to LEVEL 2 and start to learn more about body positioning and braking.

ENJOY!

Hey Mike, yeah, we pulled the pump and cleaned every connection we could find. I didnt have one problem all day long with the R1, so I think I can safely say that it's OK.

I am looking forward to getting back down to TWS on Sept 1st!

My friends 04 R1 started dieing 3 days ago for no reason out of the blue. He can't find anything wrong with it and it's not throwing any codes but I was wondering what yours was doing and what you did to fix it.

BD,
Mine was a fuel pump issue. It died a few days before track day, and when I tried to flip the ignition back on, i noticed the fuel pump WAS NOT cycling back on and priming up.

We pulled the tank and fuel pump and cleaned the pump, fuel filter, and ALL the electrical connections and it was good to go.

What is it doing when it dies??

Great pics!!

Your body position looks pretty good from those shots! Maybe your upper body could get lower, but its hard to tell.

Look'in good!

Ok, here are some of my pics.
Please keep in mind I'm a newbie to all this and man that course is technical like a Mother F'fer. Not only does it have multiple dual apexes but there are pretty extreme elevation changes IMHO. I realize, I need to get off the bike and put a knee out more but this was my first time and man was it a blast, I was as nervous as a hwore in church.

This first set if us doing round robin so I was still nervous and no knee out yet.

Second session of the day, getting a little more familiar with the course. Knees are starting to come out a bit.

He sure does take alot of my back side.

Oh yeah, here comes that shy knee.

More pics on their site if your willing to search them out. For what ever reason my pics didn't come out as clear as yours Chemis'. I think he had a hard time focusing due to the insane speed at which I passed him thus him having a lot of shots of the tail of the bike

He said it's hard to start sometimes and he seems to have to give it some gas. Doesn't seem to idle as smooth. Doesn't run as much like a raped ape. He said he sometimes heres a slight noise that is barely noticeable to me that sounds to him maybe like the valves need adjusting but he doesn't really think so because the bike has less than 9000 miles. Do you think this slight noise and other symptoms could be the fuel pump starting to go?

Lone that is one blacked out bike - very cool. Hope you come to TWS in September. I am having surgery on my hand in mid August, but I should be good to go, I hope. My Wife & I are disagreeing on this. She says I can come spectate her on the track, I don't think so.

Jerry look forward to another track day w/ you. Wish I could have been there.
