What is the best way to get to top end? Go through each gear at redline or be in sixth and accelerate from about 140 or so?

VegasDude,

You read (reed) my mind. I have wondered this for too long. I need a response also.

The best way depends on your definition of best. but if you want to get to redline in 6th gear you better go up through the gears at redline or pretty close else it will take 3 miles.

Also sometimes at extreme speeds you need the strong drive from 5th gear to over come the increased air drag as you o faster and lose gear and horsepower after the 5-6 shift. Sometimes it is necessary to over rev a bit else the bike falls into a hole and will not pull redline in top gear.

another fun way to do it is to drop down to 4th when you've passed the 4-wheelers
( if there is a large enough gap)and blast away! ;›)
don't forget to kiss the tank!
