You can bet sombody's gonna have to pay for the gush of red ink, keep them bankers in bonuses..... tax & spend anyone

I am not sure of the source, but can tell you firsthand that in our 14 years of marriage, 2009 is the FIRST year that we have ever had to PAY additional taxes and not receive a nice return. I am very bitter about writing that check to the federal government. TX does not have a state tax so +1 there.

so in other words.....

2009 was the first in the last 14 years you actually paid taxes.

wow.

Yeah you can say that. Hubby has always been military and stationed in tax sheltered areas. I made more money in 2009 than I previously have.

We did pay out $6488 in childcare expenses in order to work. They allow us to deduct a $600 credit for this money spent.

It seems like your taking It out of context. I've never had to pay additional taxes at the end of the year on the fed side because of the way I file my w4. I've paid 22k+ in 09. Ill get some back but doesn't mean I don't pay more than my share.

This is actually more of a correct response. :)

I/we have to pay additional taxes on top of what they witheld for both of us in 2009. We have always filed a return and they kept what they needed/wanted out of the funds from witholding.

we all pay our taxes....

some of us have to pay more at the end of the year......and some of us get a refund.

you can think of any way you want, but the gov. and the state(thru federal assistance) subsidizes your lifestyle....

you get tax credit for child care, because you chose to have children.....and you chose to work.

you get tax credit for buying a home, and can even write off parts of the cost of maintaning and upgrading it.....

you send your kids to schools paid for by taxes, you drive on roads paid for by taxes.

most people do not pay into the system more than they take from the system....

Can we please stop talking about tax.
This yr will be first for me ever that i dont get any back.
Cant even bring myself to think about how much I have already paid.
But I dont think I will get anything.
I always did it first off and now who cares...

Blanca.....is that a 09 Busa?.....you get a tax credit on the taxes charged at purchase.

i think you summed it up yourself...

you made more money this year than previously before...

you were previously in area's which you called "tax shelters"

not to judge, but sounds like your finally just paying.... rather than not having to pay as much....
