Was looking at backbacks, man those are not cheap. My WIFE! Suggested a tank bag (don't tell her its a good idea, I will never hear the end) couple questions..

Can I get a pair of size 11 shoes un there with a sack lunch?

Can I use it with a tank bra?

Does it scratch?

Is it pain to gas up?

Thanks!

I have 2. A large one for trips and a small one for work. The one you want is magnetic so I dont know if it will work with a bra if it covers the entire tank. If its the kind that does part then yes its fine. Not a big deal to gas up and as to scratching. I use a large micro fiber cloth under the large one when i go on trips because I think that it will over time with the vibration of the bike and wind. Its worth it though.

TS1450R Tunnel/Tail Bag (Standard Tunnel) [3516-0108] - $119.95 : Saddlemen Motorcycle Seats, Luggage and Accessories, Saddlemen motorcycle seats, luggage and accessories.

I use this for a magnetic tank bag and it works with tank bra.
Cycle Gear - OGIO: Super Mini Tanker Tank Bag, STEALTH
This tank bag is very handy...holds wallet, garage door opener, I-pod,gloves, shades, etc. ....not going to hold your shoes but maybe a PBJ samich.
Yeah, if you go with a backpack, get one that is bright safety orange in color..theyre the best and safest:whistle:

Obviously they have been around for awhile, but do they hinder riding at all? Or take time to get used to?

I also have the Nelson Rigg CL1030. It uses the Triple Threat mounting system. I am trying the suction cups and they hold like crazy. Can also get straps or magnets. My 2xl Showing will fit in this bag but can still see all the gauges.

Here is a link to their overnighter package to show what this bag will hold.

Another vote for Nelson Rigg (CL-135) with Triple Threat Mounting System (allows you to switch from suctions cups to magnetic or you can change to a tailbag). As for your earlier questions:

1. Magnets work fine with the full OEM tank bra.
2. I can fit a pair of size 13 shoes, 1 pair of pants, 1 pair of shorts, 2 polo shirts, 3 pairs of socks, 3 boxers. I can still see the gauges and it does not effect turning.

If you are interested in seeing how big the bag really is, I suggest you take a couple of towels and stack them up to the dimensions and place them on top of your tank. 15"L X 10"W X 7"H Standard 15"L X 10"W X 11"H Expanded.
