prop up the fuel tank and (depending on year, i have a 2000) if ur looking at the bike as if sitting on it, the pump is on the right side near the fuel rails. 4 bolts hold it on and a few hose clamps (might want to drain gas before you get to the clamps). comes right off. 2 screws hold the pump together, crack it open and you have a spring and filter on one side and the fuel pump motor on the other. if you take out the motor, there is a screen behind it that you might want to check. if you check denon970's amazing tutorial on the process, he gives pictures and descriptions and omg its all you need. https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/main...p-filter-replacement-no-more-cutting-out.html
if your thinking about checking the filter, definitely use his tutorial. He even gives a link on the forum for '06 models.
