Does anybody have pics of the radiator guards on a Gen II by any chance? I got mine last night and just wondering if I have to tuck it in behing the plastic. I'm talking about the plastic piece in front of the oil cooler. ???

Sorry don't have pics but my guards (coolant and oil radiators) fit in with the plastic, no trimming or fitting behind or anything like that required, just straight on - mine are the Aussie Rad Guard.

Got mine off eBay years ago. Came as a complete kit with all the fairing screens too.

Never had an issue through all the years and crazy backroads I've wandered around on.

Kinda see them here, they match the fairing screens.

I had a rock ruin my day at the track on a brand new GSXR1000 with 200 miles on it in 2008. I now have Cox Racing guards on all the bikes. Cheap insurance.

I put a set of gold Beowolf guards on mine after a rock took out my radiator. I told all my buddies to get some too. I had a guy tell me "what are the odds it would happen to me" Well.....later that day (while chasing me around) he took a rock in his radiator and we had to end our ride and go get a trailor to get him home.

Well, ya’ll jinxed me. I was looking at this thread last week and thought to myself I need to order one of those before my Colorado trip this summer. This past weekend I took a trip some 400 mile away from home with some riding buddies and “IT” happened. I caught a rock on the top right corner of my radiator and it put a pin hole in it. My front wheel didn’t kick it up I got from a truck I was passing. When I got to the next town the bike and I were covered in fluid, sad part is I never noticed? The bike never got hot so I didn’t lose that much fluid but I could see it was working its way to my back tire…. Could have been a lot worse.

Kind of a helpless feeling. Trying to figure out how to get home. Might as well try some leak stop stuff just to see if it would work. So one of my friends headed to an auto parts store while I took the right side faring off. (NOTE; right now go and put a 10mm socked in your tool bag…..NOW!!!) The only slow down on was the damn 10mm socked, lucky for me one of the riders had and saved me from breaking some stuff to get it off. Let the bike cool and poured in the leak stop stuff. (I sooo didn’t want to put that crap in my bike… no choice) Then topped off with some 50/50 started the bike to leak check and it held. Then let it cool off again toped it again with 50/50 put it back together and finished the ride, next day rode 4 hours home.

I will be carrying some of this stuff for now on.

Sorry to jinx you. I had a friend with a pin hole as you described in his radiator. He pulled it out and took it to a car radiator shop and they fixed him up quick and cheaper than a new radiator. Give it a try.

I didn't want to have it "fixed" but after pricing new radiators and the sticker shock..... think it's now an option.

I bought one from Ebay brand new for $275.00 shipped. The seller was sportbikeparts2u he had a bunch of them. It was a perfect fit and it was shipped to me in 2 days.

I busted mine twice. The 1st time I got it repaired for $35 bucks. It never leaked but I alwasys worried about it so when it happened the second time I bought the new one and some guards.

+1 and I had a batch of stuff for the BKing going to the powdercoating store, so I threw these in for a second coat. Look good. Very strong.

Question, Does the Cox radiator guard's rub on the radiator? Or do they give you something to put in between them?

I'm curious about that too - Is there any bushings in between the guard and the radiator? To prevent excessive rubbing/vibration, that is.
