Proud new owner of a Silver and Blue '04. Just traded in a '02 VTX 1800 that had V&H exhaust and Power Commander. The 1800 used to rip up my friends CBR600RR up to 80. I got tired of him cleaning me up above that. Also since the wife doesn't like to ride I figured I didn't need a cruiser anymore. Needless to say the Busa has all the torque I'm used too plus gobs of horsepower. I am still under 600 miles so I keep it below 5500 rpm. Still stronger than an Ox. It may be a year to two before I fully exploit the full potential of this beast. I would however like a stronger exhaust note. Like i said power is not the issue. What is the least expensive way to hear more sound? Can the factory exhaust be modified? I don't really want to spend the bucks right now on a 4-2-1 exhaust nor do I want to buy two new cans just for some more noise. any suggestions?

Hib, where are you in Olathe? I'm right up the street in Leavenworth! The stock cans can be modified, but most would recommend against it. There was a post a couple weeks ago from someone that did it.

I'll probably wait until winter to try anything. I live close to 151st and Black Bob. I remember when I was in Houston(2001). This guy had a crotch rocket, can't remember what is was but the exhaust came up under the seat. His bike sounded real throaty like a big block. Sounded real good.

We have been trying to get some local KC/MO riders together and haven't had much success. Did you get yours from Olathe Suzuki?

You pull your stock cans, clamp em in a big vise and drill a series of holes in the inside baffle, your going to need a Looong drill but from what I heard it will give you some extra noise...

My husband did just that to my stock exhaust a few weeks back...HUGE difference in the sound...

Ask Postal...he noticed it last week when we went riding...he's got D&D bolt-ons and I could still hear his over mine when we were riding, but he said when I took off, he knew my stock exhaust had been modified...

Hubby drilled 3 1-inch in diameter holes in the baffles...sounds damn good and was very cheap!!
