Check that all the needle rollers are in the captive cage, that slides around the shaft, something is out of alignment or not supported correctly.

was considering to do this mod to mine but haven't looked into it, I'm getting that ominous 'kick back' on the odd occasion, so, I think I might look into it.

So, I need to search eBay for a gen 1 (03-07) starter and gen 2 covers and internals?
Parts for the busa in the U.K. Are a bit pricy, it seems America is a lot more bike friendly.

Yes they are,, Just got covers, gears, Pins, and a starter motor for $154 US
