Need Starter gear assembly help please

Does anyonwe happen to have the gen 1 service manual pages for the starter gear assembly. It seems like there is only one way to put it back together but the only thing I can't remember where it went is a wave washer, it isn't flat but rather has a wave shame to it.

From that diagram it looks like the wave washer goes on OUTSIDE (towards the cover) of the gear starter. Not on the engine side of the gear starter. Just wanting to clarify as it the wording seemed like it was to go on the inside of the gear starter.... I hope that's not the case as I just put mine back together.

Found under "engine" - "OEM Parts" - then "starter clutch"

I replaced mine awhile back on the '00 after chewing up the cogs. Used the Bike Bandit schematics to put it all back together. Handy.
