didn't really read before i voted 12 tickets total in the last 8 years bike and car 12 tickets in the car and 2 warning on my 07 no 08 so sorry
Don't ever flee from the Po-Po. Evading in a vehicle in Texas is a felony. How bad could the ticket be? You could end up like the ZX-9 rider that hit the gas and dusted 5-0. A pickup pulled out in front of him over the next hill, and the resulting crash severed his arm (which doctors were able to re-attach) and vaporized his bike. After accepting the enormous hospital bill, he pled guilty to a felony. Dead men don't ride.
I have never gotten a speeding ticket on my 08 busa.
I have gone over 100 MPH many times. If i ever speed over 100 mph and there is a cop on the side of the road that clocked me going over 100 mph, would i pull over? Probably not.
Whats a 100 mph speeding ticket going to get you, well, i would rather not say.
The best thing to do in avoiding a speeding ticket is dont speed, plain and simple.
For those of you who say, well i have a hayabusa, the most powerful bike in the world, i cant control how fast im going, then maby you shouldent have gotten a hayabusa.
It all depends on the speed your talking about, 5-10 mph over the speed limit isent to bad. What it pretty much boils down to is self control and a straight-a-way where there isent many police.
If you are speeding over 100 mph, why pull over, your bike can do close to 200 mph.![]()
a lot to be said about being quiet..... (and fast at the same time)I've been sooooo lucky !Never a ticket for speeding. Not bad for 30+ years of revving street bikes. This new Busa is silly fast too!! I swear that stock exhaust helps because I rolled bye 3 coppers speeding this summer, and I don't know if they even seen me!!! Oh well I probably just jinxed myself![]()
I have a hard time not rolling it up to 120-150 at least once when I ride it, but usually I'm pretty careful about it and cruise at <10 over. This was my first ticket on a bike in the 6 months I've been riding and my record is pretty clean otherwise.Got my first ticket on my 08 a day after buying it. Was doing laps around a lake on a sunday night at about 2am when NO ONE was there...cop almost caught me doing 120 in a 30...fortunately he just caught me at 55I have a hard time not rolling it up to 120-150 at least once when I ride it, but usually I'm pretty careful about it and cruise at <10 over. How many received or how many written? Ha!
OK, never had a ticket in my life, but wrote many over 29 years. I can probably count on one hand how many bikers I ticketed though, so there..you can still like me!
Here's a funny but true story from the 70s when many of you probably weren't even around yet.
I was on patrol and passing through a school zone when I met a motorcycle coming toward me. After passing each other, I looked in the mirror and something about the license plate looked bogus. I did a 180 and attempted to stop the guy when he took off at a high rate of speed. He made a turn down a back street and quickly got out of my sight. Being the sharp individual that I was at the time (notice I said "was") I scoured the parking lots and back yards of homes as I cruised down the street. I saw the bike sitting behind a business and a guy running. I caught up with him and found that he was just a young school kid, probably 16 yrs old if I recall. The license plate was fake and he had made it in shop class. I think that stop cost him about 6 tickets but I agreed in court to cut him some slack. He was polite, apologetic and just being a kid. Kind of reminded me about the time I rode a mini-bike down the same highway when I was 13. Hey, we're all human!
