Shipping a Busa

Which company shipped yours? I know you're in the Army, but I'm sure they didn't ship it in a deuce 1/2...

I'm moving to LA and will be in an apartment so buying a trailer is not an option. I could rent a trailer IF a hitch will go on an Escort LX wagon...

I have used this company 3 times, shiped a zx-10 to me I bought in MA, then when I sold it, they shipped it to CA, then used them to get my Busa I bought in OH to me.
I recommend them, no problems anytime they ship, they even give you the straps, and the cover after they deliver it.

I am Kswaterbug's brother...A little retraction to his suggestion above. We have had one really good experience (why he posted above) with Express and one really bad experience with them. The bad experience was mine and is currently on-going. Unfortunately for me, my experience wasn't as good as the prior....

I would highly recommend you check out uship.com. This is a site that you list your bike on and shippers come bid on it. It's like ebay for shipping...

They do most of the crating for air or sea shippers anyway!

Had one shipped from Bay Area, Calif to Orlando, FL. Had to drain all the fuel and disconnect the battery. No damage sustained. United Van Lines and I purchased the optional insurance.

Forward Air shipped mine from Ohio to Texas - $400.00 - very large shipping crate.
The front of the crate got bashed in & rubbed a small mark on front fender.
They had me get an estimate from dealer w/ labor etc. for new fender.
They stroked me a check, no problem.

Forwardair is good if you use their crate/container and BUY THE INSURANCE! I had an ST1100 shipped out of Mich a few years back using the factory Honda crate (metal frame with cardboard cover) and the bike arrived in Louisiana beat to hell. Long story short, Forwardair wouldn't cover anything since I didn't use their crate.
