so heres the deal I been looking for a trailer that fits my non existant budget so I can take the family to the races that I'm too broke to actually race in

. Anyway I put in a bid on one in ebay and lost of course but now I get a second chance offer for my max bid of $500, evan though there are severl higher bids and it closed for $1900.

It showed up in MyEbay as a second chance but not in the MyMessages like it's supposed too (I think) Also got the email from ebay.

So what you think, is it legit?? I emailed him through the ask a seller question thing but no response yet. I am leary of using the "my new email is" email, that just seems fishey to me.

SCAM!

Here is my story,
I listed a gixxer 600 on ebay a couple of years ago. I had no reserve and it was about to sell for next to nothing. So I created a couple of ebay accounts to boost the bid up. After the auction ended, I was getting second chance offers sent to those accounts from my own auction. I later found out that people (scammers) look at the users that bidded on the item and lost. Then try to get money from them.

Never accept a "second chance offer", unless the auction was listed as "private" and didn't show the user id's that bidded.

but the new bids dont show user ID's on show as bidde 2,3,4, etc.. at any rate I will wait untill I here an answer through ebay mail from the auction lister.

Scammers are good these days. I checked the properties of the link and it looks to be part of ebay. Just be careful

well actually that was my only bid

, I'm the one who drove it up........or started the drive anyway

I just emaild the "my new email" address from my yahoo account and played dumb to see what happens, of course I deleted all info from the reply that leads to me or any ebay link just too see if they know what it's about.

If it is a scammer I will gladly post up the address for further harrasment fun by all.

I'm not an e-Bay person, but if you know someone in the area (or if it's near to you), can't you go inspect the thing and then offer to buy it there and take it with you?

He says he will go bid ebay rules and conditions but ebay states in plain language that if a seller ever trys to take the auction off ebay with a seperate email donot respond as he is either trying to scam or collect your email address to run faulty auctions of his own. I would not buy it.

A good place to pick up a decent trailer is the Nesba website... thats where I got mine. For 500 and it came with ramp and a ton of bungees. Good people on that site.
