Looking at potentially upgrading my gen 2 seat. The only upgrade the previous 1-owner made was changing the passenger seat with one with a little "hump" backrest kind of deal. It definitely makes my 4 year old and other passengers feel more confident in the back. I'm assuming he had it modified by someone like New Image/Tobin, but not sure if anyone can tell by the pictures?

I like the idea of a similar one for the main seat, but I've read those type of seats are mostly for drag or show. I ride mostly street and have the most fun on twisties, and after searching through the site I've read a couple times that those seats aren't great for that. Any suggestions? Saddleman, Corbin? Looking for input from anyone that's changed there's or been through a few. Nobody I know in my small state (VT haha) has a Hayabusa where I could try one out.

I'm also 6'2", so I don't love the idea of the New Image/drag seats lowering the ride height. Thanks for any input!

I've ran the stock seat then the suzuki gel seat which was an upgrade over the stock especially for long rides and finally got my saddlemen gel channel track carbon fiber seat and it is the best money I could have spent. It does raise you up a bit so since your so tall that'll probably be a bonus. It is a bit firm even after around 20k miles of me sitting on it but that seems to be the norm for gel seats. (I would like to possibly have one a little softer made the same way if it was possible just to see what it felt like) The channel is awesome, I had issues with things going numb below the waist after awhile with the other seats but not with the saddlemen which is what the channel was designed for and as a bonus it does let some nice airflow under your butt. It's pretty easy to move around on and lean off for the twistys unlike the suzuki gel seat which was a bit wide. I recommend the saddlemen to everyone and aside from the fact i think they could of made the fit a little better at the tank(nothing i can't live with) I don't think there is a better seat out there. I do plan on taking my stock seat to a friend that does upholstery and see if he can somewhat copy the channel but keep the low profile for when I wanna get into the pocket for some aggressive riding.

Exactly what I would have said. I went, stock, Corbin then Saddlemen gel channel, same as Dopey. SAme here re fitment, could have been a bit tighter, the Corbin had a better fit. But the Saddlemen is by far a better seat for me. 6'1" and around 95kg. And again I suffered numb bits underneath, to the point I had to get off the bike for blood flow to the area. The Saddlemen, no issues what so ever. 6-7hr ride day, no numb bits. But after about 6hrs I start to squirm a bit and shift from cheek to cheek.
Saddlemen wins my vote

That's the exact input I was looking for gentlemen. I have the same problem on longer rides. Find myself moving around a lot or putting too much pressure on my wrists to lift my ass a bit when it goes numb. I was leaning towards the saddlemen to begin with. Now to pick a model... They have like 5 haha.

The one I posted in that link is the one I have and it looks real good. Definitely go with the "track" model like I have that has the open channel, I rode my buddies 750 with a saddlemen that the channel is supposed to be there under the cover and it wasn't the same.

I had a gel Suzuki seat for awhile , said to raise seat position 10mm , but sold it on because it was uncomfortable and had a sort of blockage look to it . Might got more comfortable if I wore it in more I guess . I like the look of the saddleman CF look track seat , but the stocker on the Bus is good for my needs , so sticking with that for now .
My Zed14 seat is real comfortable for me , Kawasaki call it a gun fighter design . I am investing in a 30mm lower gel seat to fit to bike for when one of my shorter mates of mine comes over for a ride on it .
