I get a call from (202) 499-6112. I don't recognize the number so I don't take the call. No voice mail was left so I call the number back. An automated system picks up and gives me instructions in some other language (German I think), a few seconds later it hangs up.
I Look up the number in Google and all the hits show scam. Apparently if they do get you on the line they tell you they are the IRS and have gone over your return and found some extra money. Then they tell you they need $180 for possessing or fees. Then they ask you for personal information.
Wait a minute if they are the IRS and have gone over my return don't they already have all my personal information?
Tax season is here and the Scams are sprouting like weeds. Be careful and suspicious.
