Wild Animal Park was turned loose some of the vege-critters. But the lions and tigers are screwed...

Saw that bird in August on the Moonlight fire. 10,000+ gallons on a single pass.

As of 10:00p.m. I heard that there were a total of 18 fires
going in the So. Cal. area..... Our Prayers are with all of those
who lost lives and property. And we hope and prey for a speedy
containment of all of the fires.........

Hey bro. That's the DC-10 that I was telling you about on the phone. CRAZY!! I actually saw that plane make a drop, LIVE.

The firemen were giving press conferences about not staying around to take pics of the DC10 dropping it's load.  8 pounds a gallon times 10,000 pounds all hitting the ground in a close proximity could lead to some personal damage.

The DC-10 lands at Victorville, refills the retardant, and heads out to make more drops. You should head over to the airport and snap a shot of it

20 homes lost at the Palomar mountain ractrack (inside joke). They are control burning Camp Pendleton now and maybe this whole scene will be done by Sunday! The ash just keeps falling from the sky, cause the fires keep burning. Over 550,000 people misplaced in San Diego alone! Lots of people, it doesn't appear will get back to their homes until monday, at least. The volunteerism and quality give-backedness are in full bloom here! The misplaced are being housed at many places around the county and the reports from 1st hand info are all positive. Thanks for reading, just keeping a running diary for all you folks!

Pics will follow in a few weeks, cause ALL the San Diego curvy roads were affected. Should be dramatic!

The fire tried to crest over Ortega last night.......it was quickly defeated. An amazing sight to see the Orange Glow coming over the mountain at night. I wonder how much of Ortega was damaged. I can see it from my balcony.

Not to be polishing apples here, and there may very well be an old DC-10 somewhere dropping water, but these images are of a 747, made by Boeing.

Not that it matters, it's huge and drops a lot of water.
