tire mileage from bike to bike on the same rubber is mostly a single factor... "the right wrist" I can eat up a set of tires in under 2K pretty easy or make them last 5K.. but it would seem more like 25K...

I don't get 12k miles out of high mileage katana 750 tires


best I have got so far is 10k.


He says he is surpassing this figure and adding the abuse of 100 burnouts.

I can toast a tire in less than 10 burn outs.

There has to be a secret to this life span. I am not the only guy claiming to only get a third of his claims....

My katana 600 was running on the stock macadams or whatever they were until I replaced them with a set of M3's. but at the time I replaced them, the rear still had quite a bit of tread on it and I only replaced because I got a good deal on the set and the front was toast...the milage....a little over 11k and like I said..I could have probably went several thousand more on the rear. As for the busa, I've got pilot powers on it that looked to be new when I bought it and I've only put about 2k on them and the rear looks like it might only take another 2k or so. I'm wondering what kinda milage people are getting outta the PP2ct's????

Listen S4L im not going to get into a grudge match with you about an F'n tire. i got this mileage out of it with the way I ride....If you wanna keep splitting hairs about other tires and how you ride whatever. Personally Ive never put a tire on then three weeks later after only a few thousand miles have to replace it. And as for the burnouts im not talking about sitting there and roasting the tire until it pops. Im talking about at the strip just before a run to clean the tire not destroy it. All this thread was for was to tell people that teh PR2 is a great high mileage tire.

most guys have reported 4000 miles....I was curious how you got what you claimed.

SL4, yes, that did include quite a few burnouts as the katana was my first sport bike so i was showing my ass quite a bit. I'm just theorizing here but the milage u get could have alot to do with road surface as well...if your more prone to backroads with rough pavement as oppossed to better made roads with smoother pavement then of course your not going to get anywhere near the milage. most of the roads i usually travel are very well kept and fairly often repaved surfaces(think the dragon) and that may be why i got such milage out of the katanas tires. Now that ive become accustomed to riding and feel more comfortable, im venturing further from home now and taking alot more backroads which could be why i seem to be eating the tires on the busa more quickly....i dont know????

Drag strip burnouts are not all that hard on bike tires (nothing like the street anyway)

The surface is relatively smooth in most water boxes by design (polished concrete or down to aggregate)
