Ring seat?

Generally speaking how long does it take for the rings to seat on JE pistons 9 to 1 comp. I'd like to change to a synthetic oil as soon as possible but am refraining do to my concern of proper "seating". I've been told for years not to run synthetic oil for a couple thousand miles, but lately I'm reading with the modern rings and cylinder design that is no longer an issue. What do you turbo fellows think?

Along time ago a guy from Total Seal told me that the materials rings and cylinders are made/coated out of allow ring seat very quickly like within the first few minutes or first full heat cycle of the engine. I don't know how true this is but I rode my bike like it was already broken in and it rungs very good.

no problems with blowby here
the rings are made of steel (chromoly i believe)
and the nikalseal(sp?) is extremely hard
it allows the rings to be seated fairly quickly
