I just received my stands & spools today. i purchased the suzuki stands( if i would have searched the site first would have saved $, my bad!) anyhow i had to bend the rear stand a little to get it close enough to grab both spools, about an 1/4 to 1/2 inch. is this normal. the stands seem flexble and I did not have to put much weight on them to pull them closer together. They have been holding bike up for a few hours and seem real strudy. All welds look fine. I have lowered and riased the bike several times after bending and seems to have held form. just never used stands before, wondering if anyone else had this happen?

Most stands are adjustable in that area, but I don't know about the suzuki stands. Sounds like they should be fabricated to just work right out of the box. I just ordered the checkered flag motorsports stands for $124.99 shipped.

i would be careful about bending them, they could keep on bending and fail.

very true nolo263, when you create a weakness in an object it will almost always fail there. Example a mandrel bent piece of tubing is bent sharply and a creased appears. With the right amount of force it will continue to bend in that spot until it fails.

The slight adjustment you made on the stand shouldn't affect it all. I patterened mine from a Suzuki stand, made it out of 3/4" elec. conduit. About 12.00.

I had to tweek my Suzuki stand a little bit Too. Have had it for about 8 mos. now with no problems regarding bending. I think there are some small differences in the widths of the spools, or the stands flex some when taken out of the jig after welding. You should have no problems. I put mine on the stands with no help all the time.
