Clearance should not be an issue, the 200 tire comes close to the chain but should clear.

As of now I'm running a 200/55 Super Corsa on my Gen 2 with a 18/45 set-up and going by gearing commander it's pretty close as same gearing wise as stock with the 190/50 18/43 with maybe like a 1/2 tooth more. So I guess upping to the 200/55 is like dropping 2 teeth on rear or pretty close to that.

And as for clearance as have no problems whatsoever but I also run the HotBodies undertail on mine so I wouldn't be sure if you have stock, but honestly I still wouldn't see a problem. Now a hugger is a different story, had one on with the 190/50 but no way it'll even think about mounting with the 200/55.

So in the end your tire size will offset the sprocket by roughly a little over 2 teeth, so it'll be like you running a 41+ sprocket instead of the 40 stock. In reality you gain a touch more low end(may not even notice) and lose approx 4mph top end theoretically.

@ 10,500 rpm GC is saying:

Stock tire w/larger sprocket 170.9
Stock tire stock sprocket 183.7
200/55 tire w/16/43 sprocket 179.1
200/55 w/stock sprocket 192.5

Of course speculative speeds.

thanks, i don't wanna lose the acceleration when i get to 200-55-17
With the 200/55 tire and going up to a 43 sprocket you will not lose acceleration, but gain a very minimal amount. Going to a 43 sprocket but sticking with stock 190/50 tire will put a boost in your acceleration but you'll sacrifice some top end speed. All depends on what your looking for.

Or if your just wanting the 200 width but more acceleration then just go with the 43 and do a 200/50 and not the 55 and you won't gain as much height on the tire. That's another 10mm in height which adds another 2.5" of circumference to the tire.

i'm now on 190-55-17 rears, 17F 40R sprockets, just bought a 200-55-17 to try out, was thinking if i change to 43R with the front remaining 17T, i will get back some acceleration

I ran a 16T 45T on my gen 1 with a 200 and clearance was fine. I currently run a 190 now and I am thinking of going down to a 43T. Acceleration is friggin AWESOME and soooooooo much fun. With the mods I have added I have to come down, also I don't like running the bike at such high RPMS all the time.

How does that big ballon tire handle hot in the corners:poke:

Btw, here's the shot of the bone stock rear end with factory 190 tire.

Noticeably smaller.

Here's the 200.

Noticeably wider.

And the 200 on the Gen-I. Now go ride!

erm guys, my questions is, stock chain with 17T front and 42T rear- bringing the rear tire closer to the front of the bike. Then, by using a 200-55-17 rear tire, it will be closer to the front(higher sidewalls). So my question is that, will the tire actually have enough clearance so as not to touch the swingarm( if you look at the bike with the direction facing this way <== , it’s the wheel at the 9 o’clock position. Want to ask if will the tires will have enough clearance? Not asking if it will rub the chain(horizontally)

Thanks guys
