Rear Cowl and Grabrail

I have seen a couple of pics of Busas with the rear cowl and grabrail on at the same time. I have a 2004 LE and want to purchase the billeted chrome grabrail from custom sportbike. Do I have to cut sections of plastic from my cowl to make this work?

Welcome to the board. I believe you do have to cut the hump a little bit. Not 100% sure as I didn't do this mod. Do a search on here for "grab bar mod" and you should come up with some stuff. Oh by the way, we need PICS!

The preffered cutting method seems to be a dremel tool. Here's a picture of how the cut should look:
