Re: fuel pressure regulator question

I have a 2000 Busa, and I just replaced the fuel pump. It went out. Well since, my bike will run for a while, then shut off. After a few minutes, it'll crank back up. I've taken the pump back off and notices the gasket at the housing was pinched, so I'll replace that. Question is about the fuel pressure regulator. I want to replace to be on the safe side, so can I run an aftermarket for with the factory fuel pump housing? Also, the lines coming off the fuel pump that I replaced was regular fuel line and not HP fuel inj hose. So I think they were getting hot and collapsing. Any thoughts, comments???

Inspect the fuel lines, they collapse due to the age!
