How do you not see a cop who obviously had lights flashing since he was about to issue a citation?

I'll bet he DID see it and target fixated. RIP.

cop or not, he was a biker that probably logged more miles in a year than most of us do in 3 years. rip M/C Officer and god bless your family!!!

I dont know what to say about older drivers. I hope to reach that age someday. However, a month ago I was walking into my local grocery store and there is a stop sign for cars to allow people walking to and from the parking lot. As I was walking, the car at the stop sign just started driving into me, and I was only 3 feet away from him. Being in the middle of the lane, there wasn't much i could do, so I pounded his hood with my fist and looked at him. A VERY OLD MAN, with glasses, crouched over the wheel. His wife was scared. Well, so was I. When I see drivers like this, and I think of riding the bike, I'm telling you guys, I always slow down for the intersections!
