Should I hold out? What really caught my attention was the Pearl Vigor Blue color scheme. I could buy a used Gen3 and paint it exactly the same. ....but used bikes aren't selling for cheap either and I'd probably have to travel quite a distance from this little isolated burg in the UP of Michigan to get it.
I love the raised lettering on the fuel tank. ....and I actually like the SPECIAL EDITION emblem. The blue with white just floors me and I love the blue wheels. I'm actually quite smitten by this bike. No way I'd let my wild looking 40th Anniversary ZX-14R go nor my stunning black and burnt orange 08 Hayabusa. ...but this Pearl Vigor Blue and Brilliant White 2026 busa has me swooning.
$19,6. Good price? He's not charging anything for anything but the bike and tax. According to the quote, freight, prep, everything is free. I'd just need to buy a license and title. It's a dealership about seven miles from my home so transporting it would be no problem. ...otherwise, probably Milwaukee which is a 400 mile round trip, probably a cost of about $500 in travel.
Think I'd get some nice rebates if I wait until spring? Riding season is done here as far as I'm concerned. I won't ride a bike until May at the earliest.
$19,600. Do I take it or leave it?
I bought my 22 for $10,250. It had less than 400 miles on it.
Found it at a BMW/Indian/Triumph dealer that has a policy of getting off-brand motorcycles, especially sportbikes off their floor quickly.
Sounds like you really like the paint scheme, and it’s not widely available with demand. So the only real question is..
Can you afford it? Meaning, will your budget be stretched or will you not notice the money being gone?
I’ve financed a motorcycle or two over the years but what I have learned is that it’s too risky to finance a toy that can be destroyed in an instant through no fault of my own. Ask me know I know.
I pay cash.
how is your retirement savings?
Have a couple months of expenses in cash?
Is buying this motorcycle driving you to sacrifice any spending? (Red flag ppl miss out ignore).
These will come up on the used market with low miles because dreamers will overspend and sell, so if you have to wait, wait.
I never would have bought my ‘22 even though I love it without a screaming deal because by nature I’m cheap. Plus, I saw it after I had all ready maxed my 401k and IRA for the year (November).
Be honest with yourself and make sure your money is right before sieben on $20k toys.
Remember, tine in the market is what gets you ahead, not market timing, day trading, options or any of that bullshit. Pay yourself first! Put your money in the market and let it sit.
Sorry for the dad lecture….
