QUESTION ABOUT EXHAUST GASKET

I'm in the process of reinstalling my exhaust system on a 04 Busa and I notice the two notches that are on the new gasket. Now which side installs first, the side with or w/o notches

Wow! I really didn't think it would be this difficult to get an answer about which way a gasket goes in. I've called two Suzuki stealerships and got different answers. And both answer appeared to be based on opinion. Is their any facts on this matter? Just want to do it right.

I think i put mine on with the notches to the outside. asked a couple frineds and different answers too lol. so might not matter.

Notches or tabs?

If it's the two tabs that you're referring to, it doesn't matter which side. They are just there to hold the gasket in place while you install the headers. They'll bend to 'grip' the head.

Thanks everyone for the response. I installed it with the tabs facing out. I'll finish installing the exhaust Wed.

I have some new headers from roaring toz, taking a while getting them installed. Are there any tips or tricks for install a 4-2-1 exhaust??
