Mine is just getting over a 100 and a lil over a year, side effect of being beaten and starved, couldnt ask for a better dog. Guess thats true with most of them if you ask about any dane owner

Maybe.... maybe I've missed something but.... tampons in the ears?

Well, they are softer than popsicle sticks

They are used to keep the ears errect while they heal from the cropping surgery. Back in the day my vet used toungue depressors or popsicle sticks...but I imagine the tampons help to absorb as well as provide a softer "stake" for the ears to grow. Kinda like what you do with a young tree so it grows straight.
