Well he certainly got a lesson in respect, something I would have hoped he brought away from his time with the US Army....Just another punk.

As far as excessive force goes...really??? He verbally assaulted the officer, announced he was US Military(identifying himself as a person with self defense training) and physically displayed aggression. He was detained, allowed to stop resisting then placed in cuffs. What's the problem here?
