Promises made, promises kept. Trump frees 1500 1/6 political prisoners.

Seriously?

Just after that statement, U.S. representatives went door to door in Greenland to gauge if Vance's wife Usha would be welcome for a visit.
Seriously, what the hell is wrong with this administration? In studying the human psyche, it’s as if they are completely clueless.

Plenty of lies today too.

Lie #1:

Biden did not pardon 33 murderers

CLAIM: Trump, at Emancipation Hall, said Biden pardoned “what is it, 33 murderers, absolute murderers, the worst murderers. You know, when you get the death sentence in the United States, you have to be bad.”

THE FACTS: Biden announced on Dec. 23 that he was commuting the sentences of 37 of the 40 people on federal death row, converting their punishments to life imprisonment. A commutation does not exonerate the person.

In making the announcement, Biden said: “These commutations are consistent with the moratorium my Administration has imposed on federal executions, in cases other than terrorism and hate-motivated mass murder.”

The move spared the lives of people convicted in killings, including the slayings of police and military officers, people on federal land and those involved in deadly bank robberies or drug deals, as well as the killings of guards or prisoners in federal facilities.

The three federal inmates that now face execution are Dylann Roof, who carried out the 2015 racist slayings of nine Black members of Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina; 2013 Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev; and Robert Bowers, who fatally shot 11 congregants at Pittsburgh’s Tree of life Synagogue in 2018, the deadliest antisemitic attack in U.S history.
Hi. WOW what a great guy biden is. It was very nice of him to let the very nice KILLERS live to see a nother day to loved ones and maybe be happy..it is good that you may think thst is a good thing. To it is not good as the ones they killed will NEVER have a good day or see a loved one again. If you thank that was a good thing I do not know what to say.

Did anybody REALLY argue that there are more than two genders? There are people that don’t associate their own identity with either one. They realize that’s on them and if it creates a “rather not say” box on a form, big deal. It doesn’t hurt anyone. Trump’s order is more of an in your face move rather than accomplishing anything.
Hi
I think that some one or some way that they found there are 106 genders. If you are woke you know that it has to be true.

Some of us need to be asked these questions over again ~ no surprise that they have never been kicked in the nuts *

Rojo, if we were in the same room right now I’d slap the $hit out of you. It’s best we’re half a continent apart lol.

True but there is a huge variance in how seriously people take it. My best friend locally, second best friend overall, is a big Trumper. No biggie as it doesn’t affect us in the least.
My best friend is a Trumpeter as well......whenever he starts a conversation about him, I steer it away in another direction...he catches on and smiles....

I could care less about politicians and what their policies are unless they directly affect me.....and so far since I've retired, none have.....when I was in unform, I never voted once as it didn't matter who was in the seat, I had to go do what I was ordered to do regardless.....

Trump is just another politician and a member of the swamp...at one time he might have been an outsider but no more, he's as bad (or worse) than all the rest.

he's as bad (or worse) than all the rest.
It’s his personal vendettas, politicizing everything he considers “woke” or not being able to deal with anyone disagreeing with him. Horrible traits for a sitting President. The elections are partisan of course, but the day to day job cannot be. It is similar to being a Supreme Court justice; rule by law without opinion, and Trump has proved himself unable to do that.

There is very little doubt as to why the US is so polarized and divided.....
I posted sometime back about men wearing nail polish.

If I could have gotten away with taking a picture of it I would have.

Today I had to go the grocery store. In this particular store you can buy one or two items at the customer service desk, bypassing cashiers and self serve check outs.

So there was a line of like 5 people. I make #6. The customer service person (I am not kidding one bit here), had a full long beard, thinning hair so bald on top and long down the sides. Like down the back long. Dyed purpleish blue on the top layer and an orangey color on the under layer. Pulled back into a pony tail, with a red bow tied into the pony tail. Was about 5'6"" and obese. I'll guess 280ish lbs.. I thought at first it was perhaps a man with just a case of man boobs. More on that in a second.

Red lipstick on, and ear rings. Long fingernails, painted red to match the bow and lipstick As I got closer, I and others in line were all trying to process this. You can see the perplexed looks.

Now we get to the man boobs. They are not. They are boobs. In a bra you could make out under the clothing. Larger than the contour of the rest of the torso. Not proportional to the rest of the chest. Oversized. And not trying to be subdued, just the opposite.

And now you get close enough to hear the voice. Definitely a deep male voice. He/she did their job which is all we need to have happen.

But now to be courteous I don't worry if I'm supposed to say Thank You Sir or Thank You Ma'am. I honestly didn't know what to call him/her. 4 months ago we had to worry about offending someone by not using the proper pronoun. Now all we have to is be glad they do their job and not tell us how we are to identify them. I don't have to care now.

I said TY sir as we completed our transaction at the store. And I didn't care if I got it wrong. They dress and appear the way they do not by accident. So it's now on them if people don't have the patience to try and figure it out.

Tom had to address the person as a gender at the end why? Because it’s so important to him. What difference does it make what gender the checker at the store is? To make a political statement. Say thank you and go on your way. That’s a big reason for the political divide. People like Tom that have to have a side to choose. Who really cares?

Besides, I don’t believe his story any more than the one he told about parking his motorcycle in the story thread.

You and I wore a uniform....while in that uniform we had to fight for the freedoms and rights of others, not just whom we deem worthy of these rights and freedoms....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Although I don't personally align with a man dressing as a woman or a woman as a man, we have to respect their right to do so the same as free speech and the right to protest has to be respected.....we may not like the message or result of these rights but we have to respect them. I also don't align with white supremists or other such groups but they also have rights.....but even when I see images of them toting nazi symbols marching in Washington DC it still raises my hackles......

However.........

As soon as the government picks and chooses what rights and freedoms they will support or defend, we see this in countries like North Korea, Sudan, Mali and the list goes on and on.....

Without these rights and freedoms, the US could quickly devolve into a big failed state.....as it stands now this administration is aligning it with it's former enemies and distancing itself from historical allies......and people are taking to the streets in protest....people from all walks of life and political alignments......

I don't give a rats ass if a man wants to dress as a woman or vice versa. They can say they can identify as a cat for all I care. If they mean me no harm, I mean them no harm.

The point I made was addressing your point about division. Not long ago, our population was being told to normalize these people. Coddle to them, pay them an inordinate amount of attention to address them a certain way.

This is not normal behavior.

Now, we don't. Or rather now we get to return to normal. If a man dresses as a woman and interacts with the public, the public no longer has to figure out what to call them. For generations they were called transvestites. If one wants to address him as a ma'am, that's fine. If one wants to address them as a sir, that's fine. If one wants to address them as a fat clown, that's fine. If one wants to openly in public say they are not comfortable around them, that's fine. If one wants to avoid having their children exposed to it. That's fine.

That's what I wore a uniform for.

I hear you........and I will honestly say that I too am not a fan of this behavior.....I think a lot of us older folk aren't basically because of the different values and morale's we were brought up with....

However, people have rights and freedoms......and although you say you didn't wear a uniform to defend all rights and freedoms, I hate to disagree but you are wrong in this regard......we put our lives on the line so this person has the ability to dress up like a female...whether we like it or not....the same as the skin head, the religious fanatic right down to the average citizen....we didn't have the luxury to choose who we defended, we defended them all......that was our duty.......and I am proud to have done this duty.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

School aged kids are another story....they deserve to be protected until they are at such and age to be able to understand and make decisions, I agree with that 100%. At some point when they are of this age (I say it should be the age to vote) it should be up to them to make their own choices.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Division within primarily the US (and more and more in Canada) is also based on political alignment, race, religion and culture, not just on sexual orientation....

The political division in the US is huge, more so than in almost any country I've ever been in......it is becoming more and more prevalent here as well as our two countries are very alike in many ways....I don't hear terms like "libtard or pubtard" here....I used to see and hear a lot of dislike for Trudeau but that wasn't to do with his political alignment as much as the person himself....

I see the biggest takeaway that the government (any government) and it's leader are supposed to be there for the people....all the people regardless of how they feel about certain people......having a government that doesn't opens up the chance of exclusion.....maybe tomorrow they won't like people with red hair and make a law that all people with red hair has to dye it or be charged.....it sounds stupid but that is the level things could go if allowed to.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While I'm on my soap-box......I strongly feel that this business with illegal drugs is the real pandemic and should be treated the same way with more effort being taken to get it under control.......and that's true in many countries my own as well......

Ummm I never said or implied this "and although you say you didn't wear a uniform to defend all rights and freedoms"

I said I don't give a rats ass how he dressed. I also said that people can respond in whatever way they feel about it. If that doesn't support freedom and rights, I don't know what does.

We always had transvestites. They were all "fringe" population. They still demographically represent a small portion of the population. Nobody was asking us to make them a normal part of our social and military fabric.

That has now returned.
