Powder coat helibars?

Hello everyone. I got a set of helibars cheap off of fb marketplace. They are a little beat up looking so I was wondering if I can powder coat them black and still be able to use them. Meaning will the powder coat stop them from sliding into the triple tree top clamp, affect the grips, etc. thanks

Just have them tape off the part that clamps. Black is thin powdercoat so throttle tube might be OK. They’re gonna strip off all the existing coating so prob won’t be any tighter than they are now.

Another option could be Anodizing. Looks good and is by far thinner then powder coating.

Honestly I think it would be a waste...you don’t see enough of the helibars to warrant powder coating.
Install them and see how they look.
I had them on my bike so here is some pics for reference but you truly see hardly any of the actual clip on

Are yours beat up on the up sweep part ? That is really all you see.

Mine are notched and clipped around here. Like the person had it in a box with other metal parts. So it’s kinda driving me nuts. Lol

Wonder if gen 1’s will fit your bike? You can buy mine lol

Both gens fit. Hand sand a little, and paint via rattle can.

I used a rattle can, on my 13,,, and only what showed.
Powder coat will make the parts larger and the throttle tube will be tight.

These two gentlemen make perfect sense....you see about an inch of the entire bar...

You could even color match your bike with paint.

Great ideas guys. I think I’m going to plasti dip the parts you can see. The plasti dip will match the paint good enough. That way later on I can resell them without any issues.
