Polished wheels

I would like to have shinney wheels. Dont want to pay for chrome right now so i was thinkin of polishing my stockers. Problem is I dont want to spend mare time maintaining them as riding. A friend proposed I polish them then have em clearcoated so they wont tarnish. Will that work? Im not sure if the clear will stick to a polished surface, and roughing em up defeats the purpose.

get them powder coated chrome. it looks just as good as real chrome (well atleast my chrome powder does) and should only cost you about $300. All you will have to do is clean them with soap and water

They make a clear powder coat that should work over polished wheels.
Anyone?
